NAVIGATING YOUR NEW HIRE EXPERIENCE

This site has been created to help you navigate the tasks you need to complete prior to your start date, as well as to inform you on what to expect on Day 1 and beyond.

Please use the step-by-step roadmap below to complete tasks leading up to attending the New Employee Orientation (NEO) session, which will be the first day for most new hires. NEO sessions are scheduled on certain Mondays starting at 8:00 AM. Click to view upcoming NEO dates.

Please use the step-by-step roadmap below to complete tasks related to your transition into the UCI Heath family of co-workers:

PRE-DAY 1

Attend one Employee Information Session to learn more about UCI Health and what a co-worker must do prior to being hired by UCI Health. These sessions will offer a question and answer portion with UCI Health leaders and Human Resources. Click here for a list of session locations, dates, and times.

Work with your local HR department to ensure that your mailing address, phone number, and email address are up to date. UCI Health will need to communicate vital information using this information.

(Due March 17, 2024)

UCI Health is required by law to obtain an I-9 on every co-worker. The I-9 demonstrates a co-worker’s right to work in the United States. The I-9 Section 1 (of 2) is an electronic form and will be sent to the co-worker’s personal email address.

UCI Health has a variety of documents that must be executed by each co-worker. The required documents will be sent electronically, via DocuSign, to the co-worker’s personal email address. Click here to learn more about each required form.

In addition to completing I-9 Section 1 electronically, co-workers must present documentation of their right to work in the United States for visual inspection by HR. Representatives from UCI Health will be on-site to review I-9 Section 2 documents, receive Direct Deposit forms and W-4 forms, and assist with any onboarding issues / needs. DAY 1 - DAY 90

Your UCINetID and your assigned UCI Health email address will be sent to the personal email address you have provided. Once you receive your UCINetID and email address, please visit the UCI Health OIT welcome web page to change your password and set-up DUO authentication. Please do this immediately. A UCI Health email address, UCINetID and password, as well as DUO authentication, are required for all next steps.

Visit UCPath online (select Irvine for the list on the UCPath landing page) to enter direct deposit and tax withholding information. Your UCINetID and password, including DUO authentication, are required to enter UCPath and complete any transaction(s). Click here for instructions on how to enroll in Direct Deposit. Please be sure you have completed Step 8 in this roadmap first.

Enroll in Health and Welfare Benefits
You have 31 days from your date of hire to enroll in health benefits. Go to ucpath.universityofcalifornia.edu and select “Irvine” as your location. Sign in using your UCInetID and password. Click here for instructions on how to enroll in UC benefits.

Required New Training
As University of California employees, you are required by various state and federal laws, and University policy, to complete the following mandatory training programs within your first 30 days of employment: UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, Abusive Conduct in the Workplace, UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals, and General Compliance Briefing: UC Ethical Values and Conduct. For our UCI Health co-workers, there are additional, mandatory trainings related specifically to healthcare and appropriate regulatory requirements. Please refer to your assigned trainings listed in the University of California Learning Center (UCLC). Sign in using your UCInetID and password, and click on the blue “Assigned Training” tab to see the list of all training assigned to you. DEADLINE TO COMPLETE REQUIRED TRAINING IS FRIDAY, APRIL 26.

You have 90 days from your date of hire to make your Retirement Choice (Pension Choice or Savings Choice), if eligible based on your Employee Group. Go to myucretirement.com/choose/welcome to view resources and make your selection.
