VACCINATION
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, vaccination against COVID-19 has many benefits that are supported by scientific studies and helps protect you from severe illness, hospitalization, and death. To support the health and well-being of UCI students, faculty, and staff, as well as our local community, UCI recommends that co-workers follow COVID-19 vaccine recommendations adopted by the California Department of Public Health. STAFF, FACULTY & STUDENT EMPLOYEE CASE INVESTIGATIONS
Effective February 3, 2025, consistent with updates to state requirements, UCI will discontinue employee case investigations and close contact notifications. Employees who have COVID-19 should self-manage their symptoms and visit the CDC Preventing Spread of Respiratory Viruses When You’re Sick. Healthcare workers should follow the UCI Health Working Well Guidelines.
STUDENT CASE INVESTIGATIONS
Effective June 17, 2023, students are no longer required to report COVID-19 cases to the campus, and UCI will discontinue student case investigations, close-contact notifications and isolation housing support. Students who have COVID-19 should self-manage their symptoms and visit the CDC Preventing Spread of Respiratory Viruses When You’re Sick.
TESTING
Effective September 24, 2025, UCI will discontinue the At-Home COVID-19 Antigen Test Distribution Program. At-home tests are available in local pharmacies and retail stores, and PCR testing may be available to you through your primary care provider or from local clinics and pharmacies.
