Many accounts let you save on your taxes by taking money from your paycheck each month to cover certain expenses, but they have different purposes, rules and deadlines. Explore the many tax savings and spending options available to you.

California's state-sponsored, tax-advantaged college savings plan, designed to help families save for higher education expenses. Emergency Support

UCI offers various emergency support resources for its employees, including access to emergency funds, support for essential needs, benefits plan assistance, and more.

Allows all UC Irvine and UCI Health employees an opportunity to help co-workers in need. The UCI Employee Relief Fund provides financial assistance and resource recommendations for employees who are experiencing an immediate, severe and temporary financial situation due to an emergency or unforeseen or unavoidable event. This fund is 100% donation driven. If you would like to support your fellow employees, consider contributing to the Employee Relief Fund. Aids UC Irvine and UCI Health Staff experiencing an acute, incident-based housing crisis. Offered in conjunction with UCI Human Resources, the UCI Staff Housing Assistance Program is a confidential program intended to provide short-term, emergency-based support.
Allows the continuation of salary and benefits for an eligible employee who has exhausted all paid leave due to a serious illness or injury or because the employee is caring for a seriously ill family member. The program relies on the donation of vacation leave by the employee's colleagues.
As of March 2021, the University of California has contracted with University Credit Union to provide an Emergency Loan Program to UC employees. UCU has UC negotiated interest rates, are in complete compliance with the Truth in Lending requirements and will provide online application tools for employees to directly apply for emergency loans.
UCU is the exclusive banking partner for the UCI community. As a UC Irvine or UCI Health employee, you have access to become a member and take advantage of all that UCU has to offer.
