Staff Perception Surveys

TYPES OF SURVEYS

We administer three types of Co-worker Perception Surveys to co-workers at different stages in the employee lifecycle. Co-workers will not receive more than one survey at any given time.

Types of Surveys Graphic

ONBOARDING
SURVEYS

Focus on the employment experience of new co-workers (those with 90 days of service). The survey questions focus on co-workers’ motivation to join UCI, quality of training received, understanding of role expectations, and overall experience with the onboarding process. The objective of the survey is to identify how to best enhance the experience of new co-workers.

This type of survey is administered approximately 90 days after a co-worker's start date and should be completed within two weeks.

EXPERIENCE
SURVEYS

Focus on the employment experience of co-workers with six months of employment and beyond. The survey seeks to uncover reasons why co-workers stay working at UCI and areas of their experience that cause disengagement. The goal of the survey is to gather data that will help inform how to best improve retention and enhance the employment experience for co-workers.

This type of survey is administered once a quarter to a random sample of the co-worker population. Co-workers should only receive one survey per year. The survey will be open for two weeks. If the survey is not taken within the administration period, the survey automatically closes.

EXIT
SURVEYS

Focus on the employment experience of co-workers exiting UCI. The survey focuses on the co-worker’s overall experience working at UCI, the workplace culture, reason(s) for joining and reasons for leaving UCI. Results from the survey will be used to enhance the work environment.

This type of survey is administered when a co-worker voluntarily terminates their working relationship with UCI. The survey should be taken within two weeks.
